Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy that can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing; by reducing stress in people’s lives can be key in optimising good health and building resilience. It is a touch therapy that is based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body and reflexologists work these points and areas (AoR 2020).

During a Foot Reflexology treatment, you’ll be invited to recline comfortably on a therapy bed. Pillows will be placed under your knees and ankles for support, and I’ll check whether you would like a blanket to ensure you remain warm and relaxed throughout the session.
Unlike other complementary therapies, such as massage, you will remain fully clothed. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your lower legs and feet.
Once you are settled, the treatment will begin with a gentle cleansing routine—an important first step in preparing the feet. After cleansing, I will apply natural reflexology balms that contain no harmful chemicals or preservatives; these may include essential oils, used only with your consent and if appropriate for you.
I will then begin the reflexology sequence, starting on the right foot before moving to the left. The session concludes with a soothing, balancing routine to support homeostasis, during which you’ll be invited to take slow, deep breaths to enhance relaxation and grounding.
If essential-oil balms are used, I recommend bringing a pair of socks to wear afterward. This helps the beneficial properties of the oils and carrier balms absorb more effectively.
The art of Reflexology must not be confused with basic foot massage or body massage in general. It is a specific pressure technique which works on precise reflex areas on the feet corresponding with all body parts. As the feet represent a microcosm of the body, all organ's, glands and other body parts are laid out in a similar arrangement on the feet.
Pressure is applied to the reflex areas using specific thumb and finger techniques. This causes physiological changes to take places in the body as the body's own healing potential is stimulated.
Thus, the feet can play a major role in attaining and maintaining better health. [Inge Dougans- The Art of Reflexology]

During a Hand Reflexology treatment, you’ll be invited to sit or recline comfortably on a therapy bed or chair. Pillows will be provided to support your arms and hands, helping you remain relaxed and at ease throughout the session. I’ll also check whether you would like a blanket to keep warm and comfortable.
As with Foot Reflexology, you will remain fully clothed during the treatment. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your hands and forearms.
Once you are settled, the treatment will begin with a gentle cleansing routine to prepare the hands. I will then apply natural reflexology balms that contain no harmful chemicals or preservatives; these may include essential oils if suitable for you and used only with your consent.
The reflexology sequence begins on the right hand before moving to the left, working through specific reflex points to encourage relaxation, support the body’s natural balance, and address individual needs.
The session concludes with a calming, balancing routine to support homeostasis, during which you’ll be invited to take slow, deep breaths to enhance the therapeutic effects.
Hand Reflexology is an excellent option for individuals who are frail or have limited mobility, offering an effective, gentle, and comforting approach to therapeutic support. Because it can be carried out while seated and requires minimal movement, it is especially well-suited to those who may find traditional foot treatments difficult or tiring.
The hands are highly responsive to reflexology techniques, allowing for meaningful results—such as deep relaxation, improved circulation, and overall wellbeing—without causing strain or discomfort.
This makes Hand Reflexology a reassuring and accessible treatment that can provide both physical ease and emotional comfort.
Most people associate Reflexology with the feet but Hand Reflexology has certain advantages. For example, it can be used in situations where there is neither space nor time o work on the feet, and on people who have ticklish feet or are sensitive about having their feet handled. This bespoke blend is applied throughout the session to enhance relaxation, deepen the reflexology work, and encourage the body’s natural healing responses.
An Aromareflex session is longer than a standard reflexology treatment, as it incorporates advanced massage techniques designed to complement the reflex work and maximise the therapeutic effects of the essential oils.
At the end of your session, you’ll receive your specially prepared blend to take home, allowing you to continue benefiting from its properties between treatments.
This unique therapeutic treatment integrates the soothing techniques of Reflexology, Aromatherapy, and Hot Stones, creating a deeply holistic experience that rejuvenates both body and mind. As you relax on a warm, comfortable therapy bed, your personalised Aromareflex blend is gently massaged into the skin, allowing the oils to work harmoniously with the treatment. The soft, penetrating warmth of the hot stones is then applied to your legs and feet, enhancing relaxation, easing tension, and preparing the reflex points for deeper therapeutic benefit.
